  VITTORIO SGARBI

Vittorio Sgarbi was born in Ferrara in May 1952. He graduate in Philosophy, specializing in History of Art at the Università di Bologna. He is a writer and television presenter. He has published many art history volumes and has organised numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He collaborates with many magazines and newspapers. Some of his public achievements are: lecturer at the Accademia Georgica of Treia and Rubicona Accademia dei Filopatridi, president of the Scientific Committee of the Museo Campano in Capua and the Accademia di Belle Arti of Urbino, member of the Cultural Activities Commission in Lecce and Cremona, commissioner for art and architectural restoration in Padua and High Commissioner for the evaluation of Villa del Casale of Piazza Amerina. He is director of Artistic and Historical Superintendence in Venice. He has been elected deputy of the Italian Parliament in 1992 and 2001 and of the European Parliament in 1999. He has been vice secretary of Cultural Heritage. In 2006 he joined the municipality of Milan as Culture Assessor.
