Learning the Present
We are used to understand what happens because we studied history at school, confident that the knowledge of the past can give us suggestions facing the future. At work we think to be able to suppose what will happen because we try to plan the future through several strategies.
But when the past and the future are more and more different, as today, the quality of the project is linked to the skills, owned by the planner, to read the signals that come out here and now.
Reading these signals is not easy for the people who work in the companies, a palce where being contemporary is very difficult.
To do it, we need a peculiar sensibility, that is able to emancipate from the past without entrust itself to an illusory future.
The better tools to transform the instantaneous perception into an opportunity of effectiveness arenât in the traditional tools chest of the managers. Those skills are in the tools chest of the artists, and we have to turn to them if we want to learn the present.
